Every year, NFU Mutual's Rural Crime Report provides one of the UK's most authoritative snapshots of the issues affecting rural communities.

For the 2026 edition, we helped transform the report into an engaging experience across both digital and print, making complex insight easier to explore while maintaining the credibility of the research.

Working closely with the NFU Mutual team, our role wasn't simply to present the findings, but to structure the information in a way that helped readers quickly navigate the issues most relevant to them. The result was a report that balanced detailed statistics, expert opinion and real-life stories with a clear, engaging editorial approach.

This year's theme, Collaboration, highlighted the collective efforts of farmers, police, insurers and rural organisations in tackling organised crime, while recognising the ongoing challenges facing rural communities. Through thoughtful design, clear hierarchy and intuitive navigation, we created a report that was easy to digest without compromising the depth or authority of the content.

Alongside the printed publication, we developed an interactive digital version that enabled readers to move seamlessly through the report and access supporting content online. Together, the two formats demonstrate how thoughtful design and editorial thinking can turn complex research into content that’s engaging, accessible and genuinely useful for its audience.
